Each Friday at 1 pm we have been enjoying the Brown Bag Sessions here at the church, a round table discussion about doctrine, theology, and questions about the Bible. This Friday the office will be closed for the 4th of July. We will resume the Brown Bag Sessions next Friday, July 11th, at 1 pm.
Our annual church BBQ & Baptism at Coolidge Park in Silverton will be on July 20th at 1 pm. We will be cooking up hot dogs and hamburgers, and you can all bring sides, salads or dessert. If you would like to be baptized (or even learn more about what baptism means and why it’s commanded for believers), please see one of our pastors. Lastly, Veritas begins a new series next Wednesday, July 9, Veritas will begin a new 7 week series entitled "Life: Cosmic Accident or Creator God?" Our teacher will be our very own Dr. Dennis Phillips (PhD in chemistry and former atheist Sunday school teacher [not at CCS, though!).
He will examine the arguments for the case that life on earth began and evolved solely as a result of random, undirected, natural processes. He will then present scientific evidence and argue for the case that life on earth is the finely-tuned work of a Creator. His lectures will be accompanied by the use of PowerPoint slides and visual presentations. There will be time for Q&A during each session.
